The USA closed out the Preliminary Round of the 2023 Volleyball Nations League with a 3-0 (29-27, 25-19, 25-21) victory over Bulgaria to finish on top at 10-2 (31 points).
Team USA will thus enter the quarterfinals as the #1 team and will face #8 France who picked up their sixth win from 12 matches at the Anaheim Convention Center just before Team USA played their match in Anaheim on Sunday night.
Both nations will be quite familiar with each other as they met in Anaheim on Saturday night, with the USA winning 3-0 (25-23, 27-25, 27-25).
The Quarterfinals begin on July 19th at 17:00 local time (8:00 am in Los Angeles) with the USA playing France that Wednesday, followed by Italy (#4, 9-3) versus Argentina (#5, 9-3) at 20:00 local time. The winners of these two matches will meet in the Semifinals on July 22nd, at either 17:00 or 20:00 local time, with the Final being played on Sunday July 23rd at 20:00 local time (11:00 am in Los Angeles). The other side of the bracket sees Japan (#2, 10-2) versus Slovenia (#7, 8-4) and Poland (#3, 10-2) versus Brazil (#6, 8-4), with their quarterfinal matches being played on July 20th.
All matches in the Final Round will be played at Ergo Arena in Gdańsk, Poland.
